Upgrade from RWDir 2.x to RWDir 3.x
-----------------------------------
04-30-93
A program is supplied (RWDUPD3.EXE) that will perform all required
changes to effect the upgrade from RWDir 2.x to RWDir 3.0
THE UPGRADE.EXE PROCEDURE WILL RETAIN ALL OF YOUR CUSTOMIZATIONS
AND CONFIGURATION FILES!!
------------------------------------------------------------------
For Safety's sake; BACKUP your \RWDIR directory first!
------------------------------------------------------------------
In the fine tradition of "RW" utilities, you'll find the UPGRADE
program completely safe and Totally Automated! We did the work so
you wont have to.
HOW TO UPGRADE:
===============
1. Backup your \RWDIR directory. (just in case)
2. Unzip (or copy) the contents of RWDIR30.ZIP into your \RWDIR
directory. You WANT to overwrite existing files with the new
ones included in this archieve.
3. Type RWDUPD3 and press ENTER. Allow the program to perform ALL
tasks that it is designed to! Each and every step is fully
explained and you are always given an oppertunity to skip any
task. In order for the upgrade to work properly, you MUST allow
the program to perform EVERY TASK.
4. Thats it! Run your HEADS.BAT TWICE. The first time through, it
will create Menu's and Headers like always, but it will also be
adding process-dates to your .CFG files. The second time you
run it (and forever more) it will run MUCH FASTER; avoiding any
unnecesary reprocessing of unchanged DIRs.
Check your results!
There are several new features in RWDir 3.0! Be sure to read the
UPDATE.DOC file!
